That means I have official government approval to stay in Japan.

YAY!!!!! ^.^

Now, you may be thinking, “dude, if you didn’t have that yet, why the hell are you buying shit like furniture and iMacs?” Well, the approval process takes a while, and it’s pretty standard stuff, so I felt reasonably sure that it would get approved. I’ve got no criminal record, my diploma is legit, and I actually know what I’m doing (on most days) when it comes to my job – why would I get turned down?

Yeah, I know it happens sometimes, but I wasn’t worried. Besides, I wasn’t going to live out of my suitcase for two months and sleep on the floor while I waiting to get my CoE.

Next up is a quick trip to Korea to go to the Embassy and get my visa entered into my passport. Yes, I know it’s possible to do it without leaving Japan in some cases, but it’ll give me a chance to take a little trip, hang out with some old friends and do a little shopping. So why not go?

Once I’m back, I should be pretty much settled in. I only need a few more things for my place (bookshelves, table for the kitchen…), then it’ll really feel like home.
