Okay,
I suppose a detractor could say, “yeah, but he’s only carving flowers.” But to
me, a guy who can barely get one of those stupid “melon-baller” things to make
actual melon balls, this was damned impressive.
I doubt this guy was selling his
actual pieces at Design Festa, though. I think he was showing what he could do
(he was doing carvings in his booth during the show) and offering his services
to people with weddings or some other events coming up. Whatever sorts of events
might call for a watermelon to be carved to look like a bowl of roses, I’m not
sure, but this
is
Japan, so I’d wager there are many events that might need this guy’s
talents.
