Built Kia tough?

Not exactly.

As I mentioned yesterday, I don’t have my motorcycle anymore, so I’m riding the bus more. I went to visit some friends over in Bundang Saturday since it was my last weekend in Korea and I’m not sure when I’ll get to see them again. I crashed there on Saturday night, so that meant a bus ride home on Sunday.I don’t care for the bus too much, since it never take a direct route to where I want to go, and it’s always slower than riding my motorcycle ever was. It’s not all bad, though. I suppose it is safer, and it leaves me free to do thinks like read, nap or take pictures.

What does one take pictures of while on the bus?

Stuff like this:

I didn’t see the accident happen, but the bus was stopped at a light long enough for me to take this photo. I don’t quite get what happened here. You see, there was no second vehicle anywhere in sight. Not pulled off to the side of the road or anything – just not there at all. I also don’t get how the dude’s whole front bumper is there in one piece, right in front of his car. Okay, so something must’ve hit him and ripped it off – but that cleanly?!?

No wonder he’s scratching his head.

The other weird thing was the tow trucks. You can see the one next to the car, and the vehicle nosing into the left side of the pic is one as well. There are also two more you can’t see. Just how big an accident were they expecting? I suppose maybe they show up en masse to accidents and that whoever gets there first gets to haul off the wrecked cars, thereby making the money. I can see that, but why hang around when it’s clear you’re not the first on the scene? I guess maybe they could get into a bidding war with the drivers of the cars, offering to haul them away for less money. But even so, if you’re not first just head off to the next scene.

It’s not like there’s no shortage of auto accidents in Korea.
