“Don’t you like me?”

Actually, no, I don’t.

There’s a pest in my school, and I really can’t stand her. So much so that this entry was a close call as to whether it was going in the Korea section or the Rants section. I’ll elaborate.

This chick, I think she’s in 7th grade, is always saying to me, “Hello, don’t you like me?’ Of course, I always lie and say, “sure.” I have no idea what her deal is. She’s not in any of my classes. She’s never been in any of my classes. Yet she’s always saying this to me. If she were cool about it, and not so fucking annoying, maybe I could tolerate it. But it really gets on my nerves. She’s an obnoxious little shit, always causing trouble in other classes and fighting with other students in the halls between classes. (She fights with boys mostly, and if she weren’t such a shit I’d give her some cool points for that.) She’s going to grow up to be one hell of a harpy. God have mercy on whatever poor bastard gets stuck with her.

In the off-chance that any of my students ever find this site, I won’t name her. Her “English name” is really stupid though. It’s one letter off from being the same name as a Mexican restaurant chain (and a brand of salsa) from the U.S. (“English names” are another subject and will be dealt with at another time.)

I can’t even put my finger on why she’s so annoying. Maybe it’s because she only has that one phrase and she uses it over and over and over and over. For six months she’s been doing this. If she’s still doing it when I leave here, I may just finally say, “no, I don’t,” just to watch her expression change and see if I can tell the exact moment her perky little ego snaps.

Does that make me a bad person?
