What’s this “we” shit, white man?

Yes, I suppose I ought to explain that.

In Thursday’s entry I used the first person, plural “we” when discussing the pizza. I’d imagine that caught a little attention, and should be elaborated upon.

The real reason I went to Japan last weekend, wasn’t to buy a camera, or to eat fantastic pizza. While those were both nice, the real reason is far, far better than either of those two.

You see, there’s a girl involved here.

Or rather, I’m involved with a girl there.

I’d known her casually from an online forum for quite a while, but had never met her in person. During January’s trip, I was lucky enough to meet up with her a couple times. First, at the Tokyo Bloggers’ Party at the Pink Cow, and again a couple nights later for coffee and chit-chat after an evening out with some friends. We hit it off quite well, and plans were in the making for me to come and visit again in May during Golden Week. We’d been emailing back and forth quite a bit, and getting closer. (Well, as much as two people can over email.) Two weeks ago it really hit me. I did not want to wait another 7 weeks to see her again. I checked on ticket prices to Tokyo and emailed her, asking what she was doing that weekend. Sadly, she was busy, but shared my feelings and liked the impulsiveness I was showing. “How about next weekend?” she suggested.

I agreed and plans were made.I was in Tokyo from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning (flying back to Korea just in time for work) and loved every minute of it. We went to a party on Saturday night then spent the rest of the weekend hanging out at her place, eating pizza, playing with the cat and really getting to know one another. (Read into that what you will. ^.-)

Suffice it to say, I’m quite taken with her. Thankfully, the feeling is very mutual. We’ve got a good deal in common, and the things we don’t seem to complement each other rather well. So who is she?

Her name is Tracey, and she’s from Australia. She’s about my age and works in the keitai (cell phone) biz. (She’s a genius when it comes to those things.) Personality-wise we’re a good match. She’s charmingly geeky, loves tech and is quite smart – very fun to talk to and not at all a basket case. I could go on about her for quite some time, but won’t, as this is just the “introduction” post. I’m sure there will be bits of news and whatnot concerning her as things progress, but don’t expect anything too intimate to get posted here. (I have relatives who read this stuff, and there are some things you should not know (or even want to know) about the people you’re related to.)So in conclusion, I have a girlfriend now and couldn’t be happier.

^.^

Any questions?

(Edit: I forgot to mention that Tracey is one of the more regular comment-leavers here. Anything you see signed “T” is her.)
