Is somebody keeping something from me?

It’s not every day you find out something surprising about someone you know.

While in Tokyo, Tracey and I were out walking around one evening when a neon sign caught my eye. That’s not too unusual – there are probably more than a million neon signs in Tokyo. This one got my attention because of what it said:

What are the odds of seeing the name of somebody you know up in lights halfway around the world from their home? Pretty slim, I’d wager.

Even more peculiar was the kind of building this was on:

I took these pics in an area of Tokyo called Dogenzaka, which has a certain reputation. What sort of rep? And why were Tracey and I wandering around there?

More on that tomorrow….
