One last bit

in regards to the love hotel.

No, there are no more pictures. You’ve seen all of those that you’re going to. (Not that you’ve seen all there are, of course.) This is a brief bit about the morning after.

As you can imagine (and if things are done properly), one wakes up in a love hotel with a bit of a hunger. Thankfully, since we were right in Shibuya, there were no shortage of places for Tracey and I to grab breakfast.

So, of course, we went to McDonald’s.

Now, this was at my urging – but it was for a very specific reason. You see, there is no McDonald’s breakfast in Korea. And that means no Egg McMuffins. (The horror!) I hadn’t had one in over 8 months, so I was quite overdue for one.

So I ordered three. ^.^

They were quite tasty, and very much like I’d remembered them. Tracey was surprised that I could down three of them but after…..Nevermind that bit.

She was also impressed that I was able to look at the picture of the EggMc and point to the correct item on the pictureless menu just by keeping track of the first couple of characters in the name. (It was all in Japanese. I doubt she’d have been as impressed had I done the same feat in English. And had she acted impressed at such a thing, she’d have earned herself a quick swat on the bum.)

Once breakfast was over we were ready to head out and part ways – her to work and me back to the apartment. It was at this point that we discovered somebody had left her cellphone in the hotel room. A quick call to the hotel (using my phone she was loaning me and the matchbook I’d taken from the hotel) and we headed back up there.

There were two charming – and phenomenally diminutive – old Japanese ladies on duty at the hotel, and they were as helpful as they could be. Lots of Japanese went back and forth between them and Tracey (I’ve no idea what they were saying, but it sounded complimentary and thankful and relieved.) and the phone was recovered.

Then we parted ways – her to work and me…

…to go take a nap! ^.^
