Do you know the dumpling man?

And have you met his dumpling fans?

Design Festa: Part 6

Some stuff at Design Festa doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense, and for the most part that’s cool. Even the weirdest bits of stuff seem to serve some sort of purpose.

And then there’s this:

Yes, that’s a hat shaped like a dumpling. If you’re in Korea, it’s mandu, and if you’re in Japan it’s gyoza. They taste great no matter what they’re called, but I can’t imagine wanting to wear a hat shaped like one.

Apparently, though, a lot of other people can:

The woman responsible for the magic hat of crispy, greasy, meaty goodness may be on to something here.

People love silly hats shaped like food!

I’m not sure if she sold any of them, so she may need to work on her marketing plan. She’s had no problem getting strangers to try it on and get their pictures taken while doing so, though. (I didn’t try it on. Too many people and one hat just isn’t a good idea.)

Perhaps she oughta team up with the Nikumaan guys and make some hats of their bread-kids….

Damn, I ought try and patent that shit.

Somebody may just get rich off that one! ^.^
