“Hey, Joe, where do you want these lobters?”

“How about on the pizza?”

Yes, it’s one of those “only in Japan” kind of moments.

Strawberry Cones, a delivery chain in Japan, was offering Lobster Pizza while I was in town. Being the pizza fanatic I am (and a fan of lobsters, as well), how could I let this opportunity pass me by?

I couldn’t.

Now, before you start sending off false advertising suits over that flyer, I should tell you that this pizza is half lobster and half chicken teriyaki. (The lobster side is on the left.) Even so, it didn’t quite measure up to the glossy photo. That’s to be expected, but it was also a bit lacking in the flavor department as well. It was still decent, just not “all it should have been.” The Cones people did redeem themselves with some bonus Engrish on the packaging though.

The side of the onion rings box:

And the top:

That one didn’t come out too well, so here’s the text if you can’t make it out:

“Dear Mom and Dad.
Our confession that We love pizza more than any other.
Nothing We can think of . . . . . .
By the way, We love you too.
Sincerely, Your Son and Daughter.”

So while the pizza may have not have lived up to it’s presentation on the flyer, they still get style points for the side dish box.Unless you’ve just got to have the lobser pizza, I’d say give Domino’s a call. They may not have lobster yet, but they’re still the king in Japan when it comes to chicken teriyaki pizza.

Happy eating! ^.^
