There’s more to life than breasts…

…even for lonely geeks with odd hobbies.

Now, I don’t want people to get the wrong idea about the Hobby Fair I went to in Tokyo – not that I know what the “right idea” is, but it wasn’t just some mini-vinyl perv-fest. (Okay, that was a lot of it, but that wasn’t all that was going on.)Take this critter, for instance:

This guy had a whole series of these. They were partly some real animal and partly something else. I really liked this dragonfly creature. Kind of a Giger creation mixed with the bugs from the Mimic movies. He also made this one:

There were other kinds of female models, a lot of which were dressed – and made to look rather cute, if somewhat peculiar:

I don’t know what this characters deal is, but if that’s how she gives a flu shot, I’d hate to see the enema version! O.o

Then there were several cute/evil hybrids, like

Daisy, The God of Death:

The masterpiece of the show had to be this one – and it was just the dude’s display, showing how his model goes together.

My friend and I agreed – there should be more kits like this. Sure, it’s just his way of showing the craftsmanship of his products, but it looked really cool. I liked it because it wasn’t just a model of a woman being blown up. (Though I didn’t see any like that. Maybe there’s a market to be tapped there – or a fad that’s already passed.) It was the same pieces that make up the model on the right, just spaced out. Same expression, same everything – same duck!

I wonder what it’d look like painted to match the finished version….
