15 DAYS!!!!!

(Not that I’m counting or anything….)

Yes, my time in Korea is drawing to a close.

Again.

This will be the fourth time I’ve left Korea. I said goodbye in ’96, then in 2000, again in ’03 and now this year. I can’t say for sure if this’ll be the last time, but it just might be. The thing about Korea is that it’s so easy to live here. Yeah, there’s annoying crap to deal with, but the cost of living is low and it’s easy to save money, (Provided you don’t make three trips to Japan over the course of five months….)I’m pretty sure this’ll be my last stint here, though. As easy as it is, I’m pretty much through with it. I’ve spent five of the last nine years here, so it’s very familiar.

Maybe even too familiar.

There’s nothing new about it anymore. Nothing interesting, either. It’s gotten to the point where it’s just Korea.

Japan, on the other hand….

That’s a whole new country to explore. Heck, Tokyo alone could more than occupy a person’s lifetime. New stuff to see, new places to explore, and a new language to learn – or at least butcher. (Then there’s the matter of a certain special girl.)So mark your calendars (if you care – which you should). September 2nd is the glorious day. My bags (and life) will be packed and more than ready to go. If all goes well I’ll be arriving at Narita around at 1:40 P.M.

I expect red carpet, a fanfare of trumpets and all the usual formalities that should accompany such a momentous occasion. ^.^
