If a picture is worth a thousand words,

then what are a thousand pictures worth?

The easy answer is, of course, a million words.

I don’t know that I could write a million words. Certainly not a million that anybody would be interested in reading. It’s a good thing that pictures are worth so many then. You see, this weekend I took the 1,000th picture with my new camera.

Yup, the one I bought not five months ago.

It’s worked out even better than I’d hoped. The pictures come out great (unless I don’t hold still or otherwise screw up the shot), the batter lasts almost forever and it’s small enough that I can take it anywhere and not have to think, “do I have room for my camera?”

The thousandth picture was taken this past Saturday in Seoul, while I was killing time waiting to meet somebody who was buying some of the stuff I’m getting rid of. I was outside Seoul Station and thought the crossroads would make a nice shot:

The key item of interest in this pic is that thing centered between the two buildings. At first I’d thought it was a streetlight, but then I realized those were a bit shorter than this thing.

So I zoomed in:

It’s the official Big Brother Surveillance System!

I’m sure there’s something deep I could write about having this “milestone” picture from my camera being of more cameras – but I thought it was just an amusing coincidence.

So I’ll leave it at that.
