Everything’s cuter in Japan

Even the police cars


One word that most anybody who knows anything about Japan is kawai. It essentially means “cute,” but it’s often pronounced (by anime characters and real-life Japanese people) as KAWAAAAAIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!

Ahem.

Kind of obnoxious, sure, but that’s how it’s said a lot of the time. And in a culture where “cute” is seemingly worked into every facet of existence, you hear it a lot. Personally, I’d think it’d lose some of it’s effectiveness, being used over and over like that, but it doesn’t.But then I see something like this:

and I know there’s really only one way to describe it.
