Is there such a thing as a windquake?

I’m beginning to think there is.

Last night a friend told me I was lucky to have missed most of the rain for this year.

Care to guess what happened this morning?

I got woken up at 5:30 to one hell of a storm. Rain was battering the windows on all three sides of my apartment and the wind was howling louder than I’d ever heard it since arriving here three months ago.

Yeah, seems like I missed all the storms.

The rain wasn’t that big of a deal, but the wind was something else. It was shaking my building as much as the couple big quakes I’ve felt, and harder than any of the small ones. When I first woke up, I thought it was an earthquake.

Nope. Just the wind.

Now I’m wondering if my friend is some sort of weather prophet. She’d said the worst of the rain was past and then Tokyo gets pounded. I’ll have to remember not to talk to her about earthquakes.

But I may ring her up if I head off snowboarding this winter…. ^.^
