Zombies or Robots?

The decisions a geek faces are not always easy ones.

What to do with one’s free time? Not always an easy question to answer. Some days it’s “I don’t know.” Other days there a choices to make and when they all seem like the best choice, it can be tricky.

Today is one of those days.

I finally got my copy of Resident Evil 4 yesterday. I’d pre-ordered it from Lik-Sang and had been expecting it to arrive “any day” ever since I got an email saying it had shipped on the 15th. It’s coming to Tokyo from Hong Kong – how long could that take?

Quite a while.

Their free shipping is the über-slow Deutsche Post. Reliable, but pokey. As I said, it finally got here yesterday and I got into playing it last night, and again for a bit this morning.

It’s rather nice.

I had to leave off playing this morning as I had to apartment hunting with my boss’ husband. (More on this in another post.) When I returned home, I was happy to see that my download of the 2003 Battlestar Galactica mini-series had finally finished. I’d gotten the first season downloaded a couple days ago, but was still waiting for the mini to finish. (The first season follows on right after the mini, so one kind of needs to watch that first.)

So now the question was upon me:

Zombies or robots?

I sat down, gazed thoughtfully at my Wavebird, and decided to leave the zombies in peace for the time being.

…four hours later…

Wow! The net-geeks were spot on about this one! Long-gone is the cheesy-ness of the 80s version of Battlestar Galactica. They’ve managed to turn it into a fairly serious sci-fi show. It’s well-written, the acting’s okay, and most of all – it really pulls you in. And now I’ve got about 13 more episodes (about 9 hours’ worth) of it to watch.

I think the zombies can rest safely for a little while longer. ^.^
