Is there anything Japanese scientists can’t do?
Seriously, these are some genius dudes (and dudettes). I doubt most people would have even thought of the possibility of drinkable cheesecake – let alone gone and made a marketable product out of the idea.
Of course, the Koiwai brand is part of Kirin, makers of pretty good beer and other mind-altering drinkable substances. I kinda think one of their other products (in large quantities) led to this idea first being voiced, then approved for production.
However it happened, the result is damned tasty.
And it comes complete with mystic inscriptions on the foil cover:
Okay, not the best example of Engrish, to be sure, but given that the product is called “Cheese Shake” I think that can be forgiven.
