Man, I am so Pepsi’s bitch…
One of the things I really dig about Japan is all the cool free stuff you can get from buying other stuff. Companies often have promotions where you can get a whole series of nifty items for free, just by buying the stuff you were already going to.
Of course, this can lead to massive over-consumption.
Case in point, the new Nintendo promotion from Pepsi. In honor of the DS and Super Mario Bros., Pepsi has a really cool series of Mario-themed bottlecaps.
I think it’s awesome that they made so many different ones, but at the same time – THIRTY?!? That’s a shitload of Pepsi to be drinking to try and get them all. As an added challenge, they’ve put 15 of them on regular Pepsi Twist and 15 on Diet Pepsi Twist. I’m not really into the diet one so much, but I suppose it’s a good thing.
After drinking enough regular to get 1-15, I’m going to need the diet stuff to counter the effects of all that sugar.
It shouldn’t be all that bad, though. I’ve gotten 9 caps so far (not too shabby since they only just appeared last week) and only one’s been a duplicate. Of course, it’s when I’ve gotten 14 out of 15 and am going for that last one that I’m going to be racking up massive duplicates.
Ah well, maybe I can find some other geek to trade caps with. ^.^
