The choice of a dyslexic generation.

Yeah, more Engrish. (Deal with it.)

I know, I know. Everything for the last week or so has been either geek stuff or Engrish. I’m not in a creative rut or anything, it’s just that there’s been a heap of stuff for both of those categories recently.

I almost didn’t spot this one at first:

(Yes, the camera in my new cellphone leaves a lot to be desired.)

Again, a student’s t-shirt. I did a double take on this one, because at first glance it looked like a normal Pepsi shirt.

Right font, right logo – nothing out of the ordinary.

When I looked again, I realized the error. I pointed it out to my students, but they still didn’t get it. I had to direct their attention to the ABC’s poster on the wall to show them that that was not a proper S. Once I’d explained it to them, they all thought it was funny.

Even the kid who was wearing the shirt

.And I’m glad of that. I mean, there’s nothing worse for a little kid than somebody finding something funny about you (or your clothes) and everybody else laughing at you.I do wonder what their take on it was. They got that the S was backwards, but was that enough for them to find it funny? Or was there something deeper they got out of it? I’ll never really know, since their English level isn’t high enough for that kind of a discussion.

Their Engrish level, on the other hand…. ^.^
