My cartoons impress me.

Gotta love a show that’s willing to call “bullshit” on itself.

Yes, things have gotten a bit repetitive around here lately. It seems that I get my mind on something and keep running with it.

Or I get a big stack of downloads and run through a lot of the same show at once.

So today it’s another choice tidbit from Justice League. JL is a big mishmash of DC characters, with a regular core cast and a ton of guest characters. Great for comics fans and animation fans alike.

And it’s got stuff in there for those who poke fun at both.

For instance, in an episode I watched this morning, Flash was down and Wonder Woman was guarding him. Suddenly the bad guy sends a bolt of lightning their way. Hmmm, things could be bad for our heroes. At least, they could’ve been if WW hadn’t deflected the lightning with her bracelets.

Yeah. Her METAL bracelets.

Now, I know it’s a cartoon – really, I do. But come on. I see this and I’m all, “Hello?!? Metal?!? Conductor?!? Lightning?!? Bad idea!”

And I was not alone in this thought.

Flash pipes up and says, “there are so many levels on which that should not have worked.”

It’s rare that I laugh out loud at cartoons (well, the ones that aren’t strictly comedies), but this got a huge laugh out of me. How come I never get that kind of reaction from the Marvel shows? Oh right, because they’re only written for kids.

Such a waste.

There’s so much more potential if the writers take the time to elevate things ever so slightly.
