I look your fine.

Oh, do you now?

Ever see a great bit of Engrish, say to yourself, “oh yeah, I gotta get a pic of that!” – then forget to do so?

Yeah, me too.

One of my students had on a shirt chock full of stellar Engrish grammar on Tuesday this week. I guess maybe I was stunned by its awesomeness, because I forgot to take a pic. He only comes twice a week, so what are the odds on him wearing that shirt again to a lesson anytime soon?

Pretty damned good, actually.

He showed up for class today, and I was not remiss in my duties. Check this one out:

Does that rule or what?!?

If there were laws about maximum Engrish per square centimeter of shirt space, this one would fly in the face of all of them. And maybe that’s what’s wrong with it.

The Engrish is just too damned good.

Obviously there are people writing this stuff, but I’ve wondered if maybe some of them weren’t actually fluent in English (or maybe even native speakers). Some stuff – like this shirt – seems to have just the right mistakes to make native speakers chuckle. If that’s the case, I’m cool with it, but it does detract somewhat from the humor value. You cram that much Engrish onto one shirt and you end up diluting the whole experience.

Even so, if these jobs do exist –

I want one! ^.^
