It’s an Xmas Miracle!

Thank you, Santa Bic! ^.^

Timmy, run and tell everybody –

Xmas is saved!!!

Okay, maybe that’s overstating things, but today’s a day that calls for overstatements. “Why’s that?” you ask. Well, let me show you:

Yup, I got my projector back!

I’d resigned myself to nothing but small-screen gaming for the duration of my vacation (oooh! that rhymed!), so when Bic Camera called me today I was well beyond surprised.

And damned happy!

Thankfully when they called it was a simple “come pick it up” message and not something else. I’d have been stuck trying to figure out what they meant if it were anything complicated, and would have been thoroughly pissed off if I’d gone down there to pick it up and have it turn out they were only asking for more info from me.

Obviously, that wasn’t the case.

I got it picked up with no problems and hurried back home to set things back up. It works just as well as it did the first day I brought it home. Probably because they had to replace some parts in it. I’m not entirely sure exactly what went wrong with it, but it was definitely something internal (rather than some fuckup I’d made). It seems something related to the power supply futzed out, which led to the bulb getting messed up. Those two had to get replaced, along with some third item that I couldn’t quite get the name of when the guy was explaining things to me. Seeing how as they replaced the bulb, it’s not an entirely bad thing that I had to do without it for a few weeks. How come? The bulb is normally a user-replaced part, as they do wear out over time.

And they cost about $220.

So my projector (and my wallet) have both gotten a new lease on life, just in time for some Xmas magic. By which I mean lots and lots of time spent with a controller in my hands.

Game on! d=(^.^)=b
