Let’s get all political ‘n’ shit.

At the risk of repeating myself, The Boondocks is fucking awesome.

Aaron McGruder is one critical dude. In itself, that’s not a big deal. What makes it big is that he’s very critical, very openly of black people. Don’t worry though, it’s not like he’s in the Klan or anything.

You see, he’s black too.

And he seems very, very upset with the state of his people. Actually, he’s been this way for quite some time.

But if the last episode (season 1, episode 9) of The Boondocks is any indication, he’s mightily pissed.

The premise of that episode is that Martin Luther King, Jr. wasn’t killed when he got shot. He just went into a coma for 30 years. The episode is a “what if” on how MLK might react to the state of the people he worked so hard towards equality for. The result? He’s not happy. Not happy at all.

I won’t give away what MLK says, but it sure isn’t “I have a dream.”

(Yes, I know it’s just McGruder’s idea of what MLK might say in that situation, but it’s so well done that you really want to believe it.)
