Geek, geekin’ awayyyyyy!

With my groovy, blue Gamecube!

Back at the beginning of February I wrote about the color dilemma I ran into when trying to choose a new case for my Gamecube. It took a while, since I was going to stick with whatever I chose, even if I ended up not liking it upon seeing it in person. I ended up going with the “Limited Edition” Metallic Blue.

And I think it looks damned spiffy:

To be honest, it wasn’t my first choice. I thought the transparent black would’ve looked pretty sweet, but the shop that had the best prices on the cases (and best shipping rates to Japan), didn’t have that one in stock. They did have the LEMB one, which was my second choice.

Swapping the guts of the Cube into the new case was a pretty easy task, and the end result is great. No more ghettofied gaming with full-sized DVDs, a handy place on the back for the modchip’s USB port and a nifty looking Gamecube that, while not unique, is uncommon enough to be kind of attention-getting.

Not that anybody’s looking at the system when they’re gaming, but so what? ^.^
